Blog 3:Ohio River Valley

A Year Later

My father just got back from the war! My father had joined the local militia a year ago and just got back from the Ohio River Valley. He told us all about it. The Ohio River Valley is widely used by the British, the French, and the Native Americans. He told us that the French have been trying to take the valley to use it for fur trade. Both of the two countries want the valley for fur trade. The fur trade is very profitable and both countries want in on it. Since the conflict started a war has now started. We're safe here in Virginia, but my father went off to help. My father told me that the British were trying to get the Native Americans on their side, but the French were doing the same. He said that they needed the Native Americans alliance so they would have a bigger army which made for an advantage on their side.
